Core Capability

Disconnected Edge Execution

Keep workflows running locally when networks are intermittent or unavailable.

Edge deployments use the same runtime contract as cloud and server deployments while operating independently of continuous connectivity.

What It Is

Disconnected Edge Execution means an Opscotch workload can continue operating on local hardware without relying on a permanently reachable control plane.

  • Local workflow execution
  • Local capability enforcement
  • Local package verification
  • Local persistence and buffering patterns
  • Opportunistic synchronization

Why It Matters

Edge environments often have unstable or delayed connectivity. Remote facilities, equipment, and field systems cannot wait for cloud orchestration before doing useful work.

A runtime that can operate independently lets workflow products remain useful in real operational conditions.

How It Works

The runtime executes the signed package on the device or nearby host. Workflow logic can collect data, process events, persist intermediate state, and attempt synchronization when network access is available.

The same package model applies across Linux ARM64, Linux x86-64, Docker, Windows, and macOS Apple Silicon targets.

Commercial Impact

Vendors can sell automation into physical environments where cloud-only products are a poor fit, including agriculture, industrial operations, remote sites, and mobile equipment.
